I am not familiar at all with this cemetery but I have a friend who is trying to determine if McCoy could have been burial place for freed former slaves in the time period 1900-1930. Does anyone knows if this cemetery was Black or had integrated policy in this time period ? Hi, my brick wall in Madison Co. is Louis Piercey, found in the 1900 census with his wife Nancy, daughter Cora, Minnie Lee, Martha, and son Eugene. Can't find in the 1880 or 1910 and of course there isn't a 1890 to check. If anyone comes across anything I would be eternally grateful. Martha Piercey was my great grandmother. Terry
Found this message tonight on a FAQ Administrative Board concerning all these error messages we have been getting. Hopefully, we won't see anymore of them. Thanks Kathleen, Yes, I do belong to the Rentfro mailing list. Several of us have been searching for information leading to identification of our James Renfro, b 1800, Virginia. He married Sarah Yost in Knox Co Tn in 1824. They had several children in Madison Co., Tn and ended up in Polk Co, Mo in later part of of 1830s. Have found no info as to what he was doing in Madison Co. Any help would be appreciated. Nancy
Hey Jim! I am glad you knew of her work on the Crooms... Just in case -- I didn't want anyone to pass up a lead. I have enjoyed the book. Helen
I am researching the Renfros/Rentfrows/ in the 1820s and 1830s. I know they must be there someplace. If anyone has a census of 1830 I would appreciate any Renfro info there. Sincerely, Nancy Morris Brown
There was a man who would now be approximately 50 years old who was working at The Electric Outlet, 2058 Holllywood Drive, Jackson, TN, 38305 (731) 668-9300 a few years ago. We called him "Moon" Mullens in the late sixties when we were teenagers at a church retreat; he was in a United Methodist Youth Fellowship group. I don't know his family, and can't remember his first name. Valeta

We did find what we believe is Tabitha's grave. Merlin's headstone was broken from its base.......still managed to get some pretty good pictures. The stone we found said "Mother" on it and it was by some of the children's graves. If you would like to write to my email address please do so. Another cousin of ours made the trip with me and he could tell you even more.I could give you his address also if you're interested. It's a little difficult to get to the graves.....but well worth the trouble. I'm very interested in Tandy Key Young and his family.....would love to exchange information. Debbie

Try http://www.couchgenweb.com/civilwar/cem-b.htm As for Eubanks; Vinita Byers married Elmer Eubanks on 16 Sept 1936. His parents were Thomas Lee Eubanks and Jo Ann Butler. They married in 1904. If you go to the Greene Co web page you might find more. http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/greene1.html I also think there is a Eubanks web page. I don't have any Eubanks that you can e-mail. I hope this helps. Write again if I can do more. Phil Di Matteo

Hi Peggy, my ancestors were Benjamin Franklin Talley and Thurza Ann Stewart married February 28, 1841 in Madison County. Thurza Stewart born c. 1820 in TN was a daughter of James R. Stewart. There are numerous Stewarts in the 1850 Madison Co. census and many are probably related. I am interested in any possible connection. My Stewarts also used the name Steward.
