The only information that I have on Asa and Matilda (Elston) Patterson is on Matilda. Matilda Elston was born 5 Jan 1814, Smith Co., TN and died 7 Jan 1873, Denmark, Madison Co., TN. Unfortunately I do not have any information on Asa or if there had any children. I descend from Matilda's sister, Sarah Elston who married Patrick Moore, Jr. Do you have any information on Asa and his descendants? I would love to add this information to my records. Best regards, David Stielow

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JgB.2ACE/748.1.1 Message Board Post: Hello, and thanks for the response. We are not sure David is the correct name for our ancestor - that info was provided by another researcher who didn't really know either. I found on ancestory.com a James D. Parker b. @ 1862 and a Mary C. Parker b. @1854 under the parents Eli Parker (instead of David) and Martha A. "Patsy" Parker, nee Spicer. There were several other siblings listed as well. I contacted the lady who had posted this family with some questions. She in turn referred me to someone else and I'm waiting for him to contact me. This was in Novemeber. Last week I checked her posting again and discovered she had changed her info to reflect James D. Parker's dob to be 3/27/1850 and Mary's husband to be Thomas Bla(y)lock. This was info I had given her. When I wrote to her to question if she had verified this was in fact my family, she ignored the question saying she was sending it on to that other guy. This Parker tree is very frustrating. The Parker's she's referring to came from TN & AL to Pope County, AR. My Parkers came from TN to Yell County, AR. Did they stop in Pope Co and some stayed there while my M.A. Parker and her kids James D & Mary went on to Yell County? Who knows?!? I appreciate any & all help I can get!!!

    2. Hello, I got this idea when someone else had a similiar posting. Who knows, it just might lead me somewhere. I am looking for a descendant from the marriage Laura McGraw (McGragh) and Gustave (Gus) Gideon. They had Oscar Gideon b. Mar 1892 and Lou Anna Gideon b. Jan 1896 Did Wanda, Bobby, or any of the rest of you native Jacksoneers go to school with any Gideon's? Don't respond if you didn't but let me know, please, if you can remember any. I looked it up in the Jackson phone book and wrote the two Gideon's that were listed in the book. I heard back from both and they said it was unfamiliar to them. Thanks, Diane
