    1. Re: [TNMADISO] Vantreese Cemetery.... HELP! :)
    2. Cathie: I just realized there are two Vantreese Cemeteries. The other one is called Vantreese Family Cemetery and it is in Medon. The surnames in that cemetery are Young, Parker, Dean, Vantreese Dorris, Teague and Simmons. Directions to this one is Highway 18 South to Swink Road, turn left and go 1/2 mile to a sharp curve and turn left on dirt road for 1/2 mile to cemetery. Property is owned by Clint Lively and I think he is listed in the telephone book. The maps in the cemetery book shows that Vantreese is on the Chester/Madison County line so at least you know what end of Casey Road it is on. Just wanted to pass this along to you and wish I could help more, but I am on the way to the hospital to stay with my mother. Good Luck! Wanda At , you wrote: >OK..... 1. Re: [TNMADISO] Vantreese Cemetery.... HELP! :)
    2. Cathie: I would have been glad to find the location for you if I had known you were coming down. I have a family emergency and can't make any calls for you, but if you will call Jack Wood at the library 425-8600, he might be able to put you in contact with someone from the genealogical society that can help you. Next suggestion is to stop at the convenience store on Highway 45S in Pinson and there may be someone in there to help you or to give you a name of someone on Casey Road that you could call. 3. Hi Sissy, I have basicly confined my Davis research to families who came from Virginia. I looked through my notes and did not find anything readily identifiable with your list. I do have information re one Calvin Davis but he was a land owner early on,late 1820s-1830. I think that would be too early even for your first Calvin Marshall Davis. Do you know when your family first migrated to Tennessee? That might help. Sorry I did not find anything. 3. Thank you so much for posting the Cozart deeds and wills. My husband is a descendant of Joshua Cozart through his son Thornton Ellsworth Cozart (T.E.'s daughter Elizabeth Paralee Cozart married Stephen Robert Winton...they were my husband's great grandparents). I just recently received two letters Thornton wrote home during the Civil War. In the second letter he wrote his wife, Mary Jane from a hospital in Smith Co., Texas (Tyler) to tell her he was ill and ask her to come get him. He died before she could get there. She was pregnant with twins at the time and one month later she gave birth..she and the twins died. The surviving children were raised by their grandmother Mary Jane Bowen Cozart's mother, Esther Craig Bowen. Peggy
