Thanks Wanda, That all sounds like maybe what he meant. Thanks for the help. Carolyn The only town that I can think of around here that comes close to Perryton/town is Perryville, TN that is located about 50 miles from Madison County. It is located on the Tennessee River in Decatur County, but was orginally part of Perry County in the early 1800's. Wanda Does anyone know if there is or ever was a town in Madison County by the name of Perryton or Perrytown? My gggrandfather claimed he was from there. His father, Henry Haws Story married Susan Self. She is supposed to be buried in TN. Some of the family also lived in Dickson, TN. Unfortunately I am not related to either of the Chester or Coffee lines. I like to help out people on the Madison County, Tn list. I found this data on the net at Ancestry.com. I hope you are able to connect with the person whose name and e-mail address I sent. She is probably a descendant. Go to ancestry.com there may be one other entry there that is identical to your line and may be from a different source. Best of luck. Jim Davis

The librarians at JMCPL have located many of the obits I was looking for and may be able to help you if you have good info on date of death. Dempsey was listed in the 1850 Madison County, TN Census, and Amanda was listed in the 1860 White County, Ark as a widow. So that means Dempsey died a young man. Does any one know what he died of?
