Subj: Wiggintons in Sumner/Macon County. Date: 98-03-19 15:11:29 EST From: dwigginton@mail.wavc.org (Dave Wigginton) To: barbhutch1@aol.com Dear Barbara, I am heading to Sumner and Macon Co., Tn. for a week of research during the second week of April. I have many families who migrated through those two counties in the time period 1805 to 1825, especially my Wiggintons. My Great great grandfather was Nathaniel Wigginton (spelled Wiggenton in many records ) was listed on the Long Creek water course along with his brothers Archaleus (Archibald) and William. Their father was George Wigginton and wife Sisley Reynolds Wigginton. I feel that they were intermingled and intermarried with the Donoho, Meador, McClain and Meador Families also found in the Long Creek neighborhood. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can assist me regarding finding the early records for Macon Co. which at that time would have been a portion of Sumner Co., as well as anyone who might have any leads on any of the families named above or other residents in the Long Creek watercourse area.Nathaniel served in the War of 1812 enlisting in 1815 just days before being shipped down river to participate in the Battle of New Orleans with the East Tenn. Militia. Any information, questions or suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Sincerely, Dave Wigginton Sterling, IL.
