Hello gang, Thought I'd drop a line and see if anyone else is researching the following families. RICHARD CRABTREE, b. 26 July 1811 Crabtree Bend, East Tenn. d. 12 July 1891 Macon Co., married 22 Dec. 1832 (?) to MATILDA (Elizabeth ?) WHITE b. 5 Aug. 1815 d. 2 Oct. 1899, at daughter Amanda's home in Trousdale Co. One of their daughter's Rachel Minerva Crabtree married to Marshall Aaron Lyles. Parents of Richard Crabtree unknown. Thought to be John Hiram Crabtree,N. C. but no proof. Parents of Matilda White unknown. Matilda's mother thought to be a Mallory. Apparently g-g-g-grandfather Richard made quite a name for himself as a wrestler and known as the "bald eagle". Anyone else ever hear this story or any of the people listed above look familiar? Also, family legend has it the Crabtree's came to Macon Co., from East Tenn. and a place called Crabtree Bend, and the house layed beyond Hollers Cemetery. Anyone ever hear of these two areas, perhaps a county? Any info appreciated. - You guys have a good day, Thanks, Twila Lyles Taylor
