In 1809 William T. came from NC to Smith County between plesant Shade and Difficult. Some of William's brothers had came before and settled in this community. The brothers later built the first Baptist Church in that section and Daniel, brother of William, was the first preacher, Randall(My GGGGGGGrandfather as a young man worked in the church with his Uncle Daniel in Pleasant Shade, Tenn. Could your Daniel be James Daniel? born about 1790 in Chatham NC? I also have a LDS printout ...That lists Daniel Elder Smith as a brother to my William but no parents. Also many of the childern listed there are also on your list. Terry
