    3. My great great grandfather was William Claiborne HANES (4 Mar 1804. TN- 21 Feb 1871, Macon County, TN). Family members have said he was a judge in Macon County and that he was the son of Benjamin HANES. I'm trying to find proof of this. William Claiborne HANES had brothers: Edmond; Fountain (married Hannah Adams); Austin; Kitty (married Adams); Polly (married Hatchett, they had a daughter, Martha Norman). William Claiborne HANES and wife, Margaret/Peggy Ann CARR had children: (1) Sarahan Elizabeth HANES (married J.H. Robinson); (2) Angeline HANES (died young) (3)Thomas Marion (who moved to Butler Co, KS);(4)William D. HANES (killed by a lightning bolt, unmarried); (5) Fountain Pitts HANES (died in the Civil War); (6) Taylor Claiborne HANES (married Dolly ATKERSON Creasy, widow of Bluford Creasy)(Taylor moved to KS after Dolly died); Kittie HANES (married H. E. Reid, moved to KS). I descend from Taylor Claiborne HANES and Dollie ATKERSON. Dollie's parents were John W. ATKERSON and Mary/Polly__?__.I am looking for a marriage license for John W. ATKERSON and wife so that I can learn her maiden name. They lived in Macon County and are buried in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery. Their children were: Francis Marion ATKERSON (married Cecilia, they had a daughter Alice who married Henry MEADOWS); Margea ATKERSON (married John Henry SEGRAVES); Dollie ATKERSON (married 1st Bluford Creasy, 2nd Taylor Claiborne HANES); Frances ATKERSON; Rhoda ATKERSON; Prudence (married W. J. Gray, had daughter, Mary Etta and son, Joe). Any information on William Claiborne HANES and John W.ATKERSON, my great, great grandparents, would be appreciated. Thanks. Dorothy Hamill
