My Great great grandfather William Claiborne HANES (b.4 Mar 1804 - d. 21 Feb 1871) lived and died in Alton Hill (now Lafayette), Macon County. He was a farmer and a shoemaker, and according to some family tradition, was some sort of a judge. (not proven) I'm looking for an obit that might list his relatives. I know he had a brother, Fountain HANES, and I think he had brothers, Edmond and Austin, and sisters Kitty (married Adams) and Polly (married Hatchett and they had daughter, Martha Norman). I especially want to know who were the parents of William Claiborne HANES and the proof. I descend from his son, Taylor, and his first wife, Dollie ATKERSON, who was a widow of Bluford Creasy. My sisters and I are the only descendants from this union. Any information would be appreciated. Dorothy Hamill
