    3. The Macon County Historical Society first came up with this idea in 1990. We have been researching for this book every since. We would take the first census of Macon County (1850) and do a group sheet on each household. We want to know names of husband & wife and their parents, dates of birth & death on husband and wife, where buried, all children and who they married, military, church affiiliations, etc. Children born before & after 1850 to these couples listed in 1850 census. For instance: HH#14 Henry Wakefield. His is 110 years according to census. He is md to 2nd wife and we have all his children and spouses listed. He was Rev War soldier. Then there is HH#21 Humphrey Burton. He and Eliza have just married. He is really Humphrey Halliburton We list their children all born after 1850 of course and their spouses. The cemetery books (now out of print) and the census books we have published (1850 thru 1910) are a big help toward this since we added many maiden names and genealogical notes to those books. However some people seemed to vanish after the census taker came by in 1850. We have located some by using Family Search LDS and found them in 1880 census in other states. Some we can't be for sure if we have "our" person or another by same name and age. Let me know which you have info on and I will check to see if our group sheet is complete Anna Bertram <abertram@heartoftn.net> wrote: Mary, Please tell us more about the book. I have done quite a bit of research on other surnames in Macon Co., TN and would love to share the information with you for a book, if appropriate to do so.
