June The archives were not damaged. Looks like southern side of Gallatin back toward Hendersonville, TN sustained the hardest hit. Eight killed. Numerous injured. Storm came up from Goodlettsville thru New Shackle Island, parts of Hendersonville to Volunteer State Community College, crossed Hwy 31E or Nashville Pike and Woodhaven to South Water and crossed at the intersection of Gallatin By Pass and Hwy 109 South (turned eighteen wheelers over on cars. and headed to Trousdale County. My opinion, based upon location of damage, there were two tornados that apparently came together. I have been in tornados and know how it is. Volunteer State Community College sustained major damage and classes are cancelled until further notice. Car dealership across the 31E or Nashville Pike had over 250 new cars destroyed along with the building. Four people were killed in Woodhaven Subdivision. Four more killed close to South Water going toward the Wilson County line. Hwy 109 is closed in both directions. Destruction unbelievable. William Lee Golden's home, built in 1786 was destroyed. Go to thetennessean.com or WSMV.com, newschannel5.com or gallatinnewsexaminer.com for photos, etc. Water in Gallatin, TN undrinkable and will not be up until 4:00 P.M. today (if lucky) Maybe longer. Power in some places will be out for at least a week. Please keep everyone in your prayers. NOTE; UPDATE: ANOTHER BODY HAS BEEN FOUND IN SUMNER COUNTY, TN. THIS BRINGS TOTAL TO NINE NOW. Unable to access some of the hardest hit area's until search and rescue has been completed. Billy W.
