I want to alert all Smith/Macon/Jackson County descendants of Roderick Jenkins (1753—1823) about the Jenkins Family Reunion scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Ward Agriculture center at the Wilson County fairgrounds in Lebanon.  One of our cousins, Walter Jenkins, who lives in Murfreesboro is organizing it, and we’re trying to get the word out to as many relatives as we can.  Folks will start gathering around 10:00 AM and will be bringing some sort of food for a potluck lunch.  I’m planning to make a presentation about our nine ancestors in the Civil War.  If you’re a descendant of this Jenkins line, I hope you and your family will think about coming.  If you plan to do so, please let me know how many will be in your group so I can let Walter know for planning purposes.
