Some of the dates and info I got from a couple Rootweb Worldconnect files and they can't seem to agree on the parents of Richard Coons so I will start with him. Could find nothing on him in the History of Smith Co. Richard "Uncle Dick" Coons b. Oct 1823 Jackson Co. TN d. March 23, 1908 Macon Co. TN (Did they have two Sarah's or is this someone elses child?) I believe Richard & Esther were still in Jackson Co. in 1860 Census or possibly Clay Co. It looks like there were Coons (Many various spellings) in Clay Co. that were related to the Coons in Jackson Co. TN. I don't have access to either census to check that out.
