Hey Shelta~ I'd love to have a scan of this article. Annnnnd Melrose DOES still exist on Highway 60 in New Mexico, it's down the road a piece from a place called... "VAUGHN" !!!. Two of my Shrum uncles (okay great-uncles) farmed north of Tucumcari in Mosquero. For a short while in the early 1900's my Shrum gr-grandparents were in New Mexico as well, I believe in that easternmost section as well.
