Not that I know of Juanita, but I have a lot of Sadlers in my file and a lot of Lovelady's. Do you have any first names of either? Mary Knight Did any of your Sadler women marry Lovelady men from Simpson County, KY? Thanks. The child that Hoke lists as Ligon H. Sadler is actually Henry Logan Sadler according to various websites and I found his obit online. Same birth date and his obit names his children and siblings. It states he has three half brothers and one half sister living, unfortunately it doesn't name them. OBITUARY, JACKSON COUNTY SENTINEL, GAINESBORO, TENNESSEE, April 10, 1929. "H.L. SADLER CALLED BY DEATH" Henry Logan Sadler, for many years a prominent farmer and a merchant of North Springs, died at his home, Saturday, April 6th , 1929, following an illness of several weeks of heart trouble. Mr. Sadler was born February 24, 1854 in Smith County near Granville, being 75 years, 1 month and 12 days old at his death. He was married to Miss Lucy Ann Ferguson November 12, 1888 and to this union 14 children were born, 12 of whom survive. He obeyed the Gospel under preaching of Elder Joe Harding in the year 1883 and lived a consistent Christian until death. Besides his widow, he is survived by the following children: Walter, of North Springs, Mrs. S. E. (Mona Belle) Tinsley, of Cookeville, Mrs. Ernest (Bonnie) Shoemake and Dr. Comer Sadler, of Nashville, Herman Sadler, Mrs. Dewitt (Moline) Herod, Mrs. Bryan (Lorell) Crabtree, John H., Robert, Jack and Miss Tom Brown Sadler, of North Springs; also two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Green, Mrs. Beedy Kemp and Mrs. Palistine Donoho, J. E. and B. P. Sadler and three half-brothers and one half-sister. Funeral services were conducted from his late home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Elder L. Neatherland, of Sparta, TN and burial in the Johnson cemetery near the Cumberland River. (Draper Memorial Cemetery now). So Henry Sadler and Lucy West either divorced as you suggest or Lucy's death date is wrong? I could almost swear that this is the same Henry Sadler that married Lucy West. Sadler that was first married in 1850 to Lucy Jane West daughter of Ezekiel West. But the one problem I'm having is that I have (and everyone else seems to have) Lucy West death date as Nov. 20, 1901. But I also note that Nov. 20, 1901 is the same death date I have for Lucy's father Ezekiel West. Mur, In the book, "What Is In A Name", Hoke Holland West says that Lucy Jane West, b. 18 Sep 1831, d/o Ezekiel West, married Henry Sadler in Jackson Co. TN on 26 Jun 1850. Hoke says Ezekiel died 20 Nov 1901 in Macon Co. TN and Lucy Jane died 20 Nov 1901 probably in Jackson Co. but he doesn't make any comments about them dying on the same day. Hoke lists the children of Lucy Jane and Henry Sadler: Ligon H. Sadler, b. 24 Feb 1854 Jonathon T. Sadler, b. 21 Jan 1857 Arley E. Sadler, b. 5 Oct 1859 Robert D. Sadler, b. 1 Jul 1865 Mary E. P. Sadler, b. 1 Jan 1868 John A. Sadler, b. 30 Oct 1870 Ezekiel M. Sadler, b. 17 Apr 1872 Bailey P. Sadler, b. 1 Jul 1873 The information in parentheses is mine taken from the 1900 Macon Co. TN census book by MCHS. Mary Knight <maryknight@famvid.com<mailto:maryknight@famvid.com>> wrote:Could someone with access to 1900 Macon Co.
