Yes, Haley is correct and I see what is surely an error I made when typing the 1910 census of Macon County for the book. I have Haley as s/o L. Shoulders. Regarding King Emmanuel SHRUM, s/o of Carroll SHRUM, s/o Peter SHRUM: The 1870 census for Macon Co. TN as transcribed by the MCHS shows King Emmanuel with a son, William SHRUM, age 4. The 1880 census for Macon Co. TN as transcribed by the MCHS shows King Emmanuel with a son, William G. SHRUM, age 14. The 1900 census for Macon Co. TN as transcribed by the MCHS shows King Emmanuel with a son, William G. SHRUM, age 18, born Oct. 1882. Did King Emmanuel SHRUM have two sons named William G. SHRUM? Thanks!! Bobby L. West
While researching Tilman D. SHRUM of Macon Co. TN I ran across a bit of interesting information in the 1850 - 1860 - 1870 - 1880 Macon Co. TN census records transcribed by the Macon County Historical Society. The 1850 transcriptions, p. 93, shows Tilman's daughter, Mary, living with her father. The 1860 transcriptions, p. 113, show Mary as the wife of James J. DRURY with their son, William T. DRURY, age 1, living in a household next to the Tilman D. SHRUM household and James is shown as being in Co9, 2nd Rg TN Cal. (I think the Co. designation is incorrect). The 1870 transcriptions, p. 125, shows Mary with two children, William T. Drury, age 10, and Dorthula D. DRURY, age 7, living with her (Mary's) father. The children are listed as grandchildren of Tilman D. SHRUM. The 1880 transcriptions, p. 163, shows Mary, listed with Dorthula DRURY, age 17, Bell DRURY, age 8, and Arnold DRURY, age "mos" living with her father, T.(ilman) D. SHRUM. The children are listed as grandchildren of Tilman D. SHRUM. It appears that James J. DRURY was in the army prior to the beginning of the Civil War and it also appears that he may have died prior to the 1870 census. I didn't find his name listed after 1860. The burning question: Who was the father of Bell and Arnold DRURY? Bobby L. West

DEANNA, Thanks for the help. I know you have helped me a lot with my Jones line. I need to ask for your help again. About a month ago you sent me Obit. Of Tom Jones s/o Brodus and Betty Durry Jones. In the Obit it states one of Tom Daughters being Mrs. Herman Harper. I looked on Ancestry.com and found a Nettie R. Jones b. Nov. 15, 1894; d. Mar. 28, 1982 that married a Herman E. Harper. What I was wanting to know if this is the same person. If you or anyone else can maybe have a way to look up the Obit. For Nettie I would be really greatful.
