Hi Lance: I WISH there was an 1890 Census for this county and many others, however, as I understand it the 1890 census was lost due to a flood or a fire in Washington. It basically does not exist. It is a shame because I know it holds the key to many people I am trying to locate. Sorry, wish I could help. Mary, I would say that it is a great possibility that Grandma Josie was part Indian.I could not go so far as to say a full blood. She sure looked like a Indian, but I haven't head anyone in the family say anything about that. I am descended from James and his first wife Martha A. Powell. Martha Died in 1899. So Josie was the only great grand mother I knew on the Goodall side. I can send pictures and a copy of the family tree back to 1702. Thanks so much to Melissa Barker. I finally have death certificates for Joseph Newton Knight and Rebecca Jenkins. The death certificates differ in the birth information I have for them so I'll give you both. Joseph Newton "Newt" Knight b. Dec. 31, 1855 (DC April 1858) Smith Co. TN d. Sept. 21, 1933, 821 Lischey Ave, Nashville, Davidson Co. TN. Burial Sept. 22, 1933, Red Boiling Springs, TN. Was living with his son Walter H. Knight at the time of his death. Age 75y 5m. Son of Avery Knight & Katie Willis Rebecca Jenkins b. October 04, 1855 (DC April 5, 1853) Smith Co. TN d. Aug. 31, 1942, Nashville, Davidson County, TN. Burial Sept. 1, 1942, Red Boiling Springs, TN. She died at the Davidson County Hospital where she had been for 3 yrs. Age 89y 4m 26d The DC gives Rebecca's father as Joseph Jenkins and mother unknown. The informant was her son Walter H. Knight and apparently he didn't know who her parents were. She was (I'm sure) the daughter of Jefferson Jenkins and Martha Parkhurst. Unfortunately neither of the death certificates gives the name of the Cemetery. I still believe it was Whitley, hopefully I can find out for sure one day. Mary Knight
