Hi Gary, No I haven't really researched this ADAMS family until a few days ago but I do have the BROOKS family in my files. Neither of these families are a direct tie to my husbands family but I'm one of those people that has to have all the connecting families in my files! :-) I was trying to help Lanice find her ADAMS and this Margaret E. daughter of John M. (W?) Adams seems to be the only Margaret Adams that fits age wise. There are only two Margaret Adams in 1870 Macon Co. census and they are both living with John M. ADAMS (listed as John M. 1850 & 1860 & John W. in 1870 and J. M. 1880) One Margaret L. appears to be his sister and Margaret E. appears to be his daughter. I've searched the last few days to see if I could find anything on John Adams b. ca 1810 VA and Margaret Unknown b. 1811-1812 VA and have found nothing but census records. I did find however a death notice for a Miss Maggie (another nickname for Margaret) Adams the last living child of John Adams that I believe is Margaret L. b. ca 1856. So this leads me to believe that all of John Adams b. 1810 children were dead by 1885. And probably the reason it has been so difficult for you to find anything on this Adams family. It appears to me the only Child of John Adams b. ca 1810 VA, that had any children was John M. & Frances O. (Pinckley)? This would be Thomas's second wife, Luhada, I believe. Together they had these children: Myrtie Henry Odell Carsey Carena Daisy Oakley born 1911 Naomi born 1915 Huey born 1917 Ruby born 1919 The last 4 above would not have been born yet to show in the 1910 census. From reading census takers handwriting, etc I would venture to guess that the como was really coma but the olena has me puzzled. When it gets here maybe all of us can take a shot at trying to decipher what's written on it. Speaking of cause of death on a death certificate, my wife ordered a copy of the death cert. for her great grandfather and the cause of death was written. . . . ."don't know" .
