Bobby, I have Mary "Polly" Shrum b. about 1812 Married Robert Gammons b. 1808 d. about 1850 M. about 1828. She was the daughter of Peter Shrum and Sarah Beckie Lovelady. My Grandfather Radford Shrum who was the great grand son of Peter and Sarah married Betty Ann Gammons. So the Shrum name and Gammons are connected many times through out the years. Are these the only states that existed in that year? Tennessee was formed from North Carolina in 1796??? So if you're looking for Tennessee residents, North Carolina would be where to look in 1790. RE: Brooks family I'm just beginning to work on this family. My granddaughter descends from Clarence Birdwell Brooks, son of Thomas & Lou Hada Snyder Brooks. I may be able to get more information in a few days. I show Thomas was married before Hada but no name of first wife. I was told they had a son named Pete (and no other children listed) I show children of Thomas & Lou Hada Snyder Brooks are Clarence Birdwell (b. 1904), Odell, Carsie, Huey, Ruby, Naomi, Gertie, Daisy, and Oakley. This information is only by word of mouth from Thomas's granddaughter. I do have some papers that I haven't got to yet but at this time I have no further information. As a member of the Macon County County Historical Society I have done much research on people in 6th and 7th district of Macon County. We hope to do a book called Macon Roots that contains a "group sheet" on each household listed in 1850 census of Macon County. The Society as a whole has contributed information to add maiden names and other information to all census records from 1850 thru 1910 and these are already published in books. We are so thankful that Calvin Gregory and Goodspeed and other older researchers left us their works that we want to help those who come after us. Here is your family in District 7 1850. This if for Macon Roots book If anyone can fill in my blanks, it would certainly help.
