Joshua Layton was born ca 1851 to William W. and Mary Polly Goad Jenkins and lived in Macon, Smith, and other nearby counties in TN. He left home to buy coffee for his mother and never returned. This was between 1870-1880. The family has always believed he moved to Colorado. There are many of us Jenkins family members still looking for information and his descendants.
