Hi Gerald I have that William and Susan Creasy's daughter Lucy Ann (9 Oct. 1877-27 June 1955) married Robert "Bob" Carver (1 March 1879-17 July 1964) They are buried in the Walrond/Walden Cemetery. I am not positive that this is the same Lucy but it appears to be. I can't remember where I got the info, but it may be worth checking out. I have nothing on the other children. I have also run across a Bible Record that I am hoping you can help me with. The I. L. Roark Bible lists the following: "Sarah S. Creasy formerly Roark died May 10 1854, she was the sister of I. L. Roark" Do you have any idea what Creasy she married. I have that she was born 28 Aug. 1828. She was the daughter of William Roark and Elizabeth Meador. I. L. Roark (Iredell Linville Roark) was a prominent attorney in Lafayette. Sarah is listed with her parents in the 1850 census District 4 household 607. Do you have any ideas? I recently became aware of a book titled, "History of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee." Can anyone tell me how I might obtain a copy of it? My grandmother was a school teacher and I can remember as a small boy riding with her on weekends from Tompkinsville, Kentucky to Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. to obtain jars of water from the springs there. My grandmother would drink one glass of this water everyday. I can also remember as a young boy, my mother and aunt taking my siblings, cousins and me to a swimming pool there. I had not been back to Red Boiling Springs for probably 25 years until last year when visiting my parents in Kentucky, we decided to drive there. The swimming pool was gone but some of the grand old hotels were still there. I pumped one of the old wells and forced myself to drink some of the water to remember how much I had disliked it. The smell of the sulphur reminded me of the inside of my grandmother's refrigerator in the 1960s. I have nothing but good memories of Red Boiling Springs and would like to find the book. I'll pass though on any samples of the water. Gary
Do you know if Uphemia's middle name is "Angeline" and does anyone know where Joseph & Nancy Gregory are in the 1860 census? If you look at the 1860 Macon co Census you will see J. Gregory 35, Louisa 34, W.F. 13(f) Angeline 10 as well as other children listed. In all other information I have on John Gregory & Louisa (mostly)from Truman Gregory and microfilm at the Lafayette Library and census records, I have never found W.F. or Angeline listed at their children. I am wondering if they are nieces or relatives from another Gregory family. John is supposed to have married first Elvira/Alvira Cothron d/o Robert & Winnifred Cothron and he and Alvira had a daughter Matilda Susan b. abt 1848. In the 1850 Macon Co census there is an Alvera 22 and Matilda S. 2, so that some what proves that she left John and went back home. Matilda Susan later married John Brawner. I cannot find John Gregory s/o Ambrose & Gemima in the 1850 census and I don't think they married until after 1850. These 2 girls are not my line from John but his son Wiley C(Doc) is my line but they are a mystery . Thanks for all the help that has been posted.
