Does anyone know how I can find Dorothy Jones Graves she is the daughter of Ernest and Daisy Jones. She wrote a article in the new Macon County History Book about her family which is also my family. I would love to meet her, because she might be able to help me with some stuff on my family tree. Thanks, Michelle Jones Mahan

Celeste.......thanks so much for the info which you sent....really appreciate it.....Casey
Casey: Vesper C. Russell was born 21 Nov 1892 and died 18 Oct 1960 and is buried next to his wife, Bessie M. Russell b. 20 Mar 1897 - d. 8 May 1983 in the Whitley Cemetery in Macon County, TN. Next to them is Vesper's brother, Fred Edward Russell b. 30 Jan 1891 - d. 27 May 1967. Also, buried next to Fred are Bluford Russell b. 19 Mar 1879 - d. 27 May 1962 and Stella D. Russell b. 12 Aug 1874 - d. 24 Apr 1958. Next to Bluford and Stella is Grady Russell b. 2 Dec 1905 - d. 21 Apr 1983. You could contact the Macon Library and get a copy of the obituaries and Alexander Funeral Records for Vesper to start with. The funeral record would most likely list his parents and where they were from. It will also list where Vesper was born. His parents might be Bluford and Stella. Also, you could send for a copy of Vesper's death certificate from the Tennessee Archives. I noticed that Fred was living next door to Vesper in the 1920 Macon County census. Maybe by getting obituaries and death records on these people that are buried in the Whitley Cemetery you will be able to piece something together on this. Gee, we have a lot of patient folks out there since I have heard absolutely no complaints regarding the TNMacon Website being down. I have pasted below the latest update and ask that we all keep out fingers crossed in hopes that we will be up and running soon. The new Dell 4600 server arrived late Tuesday afternoon, 7 Jan 2003, at our co-location site in Emmett, Idaho. It will take a few days to get the server in place, loaded, checked, and up to speed. Peggy, you just helped me a great deal. I had not previously been able to find William and Malinda in the 1850 census since I was searching in Sumner County. I am grateful. John
Peggy, Thanks so much, it does help. Is there any information on Polly, who her family might have been? Again, Thanks.
Does anyone have this family. I am interested in both the ancestry and the descendents. All information will be sincerely appreciated. John Addison Venable
No John not that I can find. In the 1850 Macon County census there were two Adkerson families - William 45 Blacksmith born VA with wife Malinda 44 born TN and children, then John 42 Farmer born VA with wife Mary 39 born TN plus children. In the 1860 Macon County census there is only John and Mary's family listed.
