Thanks to all who answered my inquiry about Oak Dale Cemetary, and the Nunleys. You all had me worried for a while, I thought we had lost it, Oak Dale I mean, ha, ha. In book 1., there is a Nunley cemetery near Westmoreland, Route 2 that had been destroyed, see page 24 of Vol. 1. J.Price
Is anyone a descendant or relative of Ernestine Meador? Thanks. Gary

Bobby, Lucas Thomas BROOKS was my third great grandfather. From your information, Bert E. BROOKS would have been Lucas T. BROOKS grandson. The information Bert gave to Geneva COTHRON was concerning an ADAMS family in Macon County, TN. Some of it was regarding Margaret "Peggy" Elizabeth ADAMS, the wife of Bert's uncle, Thomas S. BROOKS. Thomas S. and Margaret ADAMS BROOKS were my second great grandparents. I was hoping to make contact with either Bert or Geneva but as you can see from previous posts both of them passed away in the early seventies. Thanks to you and Charlie for the look ups and your time. Gary > > Hi, Gary > Bert E. I went back and looked at the 1900 Smith Co census, and it does have Samuel and the date is hard to read but it could be May 1880, as I think the age is 10. I do have he married Julia Kemp but I have not proved that myself. He is definitely listed as "son" so Mary had him late. Charlie, Thank you for letting me know about Geneva. Gary
Hello Bobby. Yes, it does because the reference I have states that : Bert Brooks orally told Geneva Holland Cothron on Nov. 19, 1971. That verifies he gave the information before his death in 1972. Do you know how this Bert Brooks ties into Luke Thomas Brooks? I wonder who is Geneva Cothron? I would like to make contact with her though as the information Bert provided conflicts with what I have found. Thanks! From: <[email protected]> Do you know how this Bert Brooks ties into Luke Thomas Brooks? Hi, Gary Bert E. BROOKS is the son of William Alonzo "Billy" BROOKS and Henrietta Jane "Hettie" KIRBY. William Alonzo "Billy" BROOKS is the son of Lucas T. "Luke" BROOKS and Mary Jane OWEN. Was the information that Bert BROOKS gave to Geneva Holland COTHRON anything concerning the Lucas T. BROOKS family line? Incidentally, Lucas T. BROOKS is my g-g-grandfather. Bobby L. West .
Does anyone know these people? They are listed in some Brooks genealogy materials as the references. Thanks! Gary

Hi, there is an Oak Dale Cemetery listed in the Macon County Historical Society website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnmchs/cemetery/n_o.htm Hope this helps you. John Venable
Curtis Nunley and his wife Nancy Featherstone are supposedly buried in the Nunley Cem., near the Oak Dale Community. Unfortunately the cemetery was destroyed several years ago, so there are no markers anywhere. Curt's daughter Susan Frances Nunley married Ambrose Meador. They are buried in the Oakdale Cemetery. Does anyone have any dates for Curt and his wife? Dear Bobby Look in the book and see if Curt Nunley and his wife Susan Francis Nunley is not buried in Oakdale Church Cemetery. In the Macon County Cemetery Book Vol 1, there is an Oak Dale Baptist Church Cemetery listed in the 2nd District, Rt 2, Westmoreland, TN, but the Nunley's are not listed. Charles, do you have burial information on these two? Hi, Charles No mention of Curt Nunley, or Susan Francis Nunley in the Macon Co. Cemetery books, and no mention of an Oakdale Church Cemetery in the index of Macon Co. cemeteries. Bobby L. West
Likewise, I know nothing about Macon County cemetery records for Curtis Nunley.
