Hi Wanda, You found me. My Babbs (or rather my husbands) did come from Greene Co, TN. Hiram Babb married Polly Crabtree in 1793 in Greene County (g-grandparents) (3g-grandparents) Abraham Babb married Minerva M. Derosset Hood in 1847 in Roane Co (2g-grandparents) Joseph Lafayette Babb married Mary C. Grammar in 1883 in Roane Co (g-grandparents on my husband's mother's side) William Malone Babb married Mary E. Blackburn in 1878 in Loudon Co (g-grandparents on my husband's father's side) My 2g-grandfather, James Liles married Eliza Huffman in 1842 in Roane County, TN. I believe she is the daughter (or maybe) brother of Adam Huffman. There is a Maggie Huffman who married Jame Henry Rupe that is buried in the same cemetery (Hickory Creek) as James Liles and one of their daughters' married a grandson of James'. I don't know what the connection is. There is a Isaac and John Huffman (son's of Adam) who lived in the Martel community of Loudon Co (a stone's throw from where I now live). I found reference to Lee Huffman also of Martel. I can't get a handle on this family but would be interested in knowing if they are connected to Eliza. Some are buried in Martel Cemetery where some of my husband's family is buried. My Grubbs are descended from Daniel Grubb (who MAY be the son of Christian Grubb of Virginia) who married Catherine Pickel in 1804. Daniel was in Roane Co as early as 1798 when he was on the roster of soldiers at Fort Southwest Point. Interestingly, I have also found a John Huffman and a Michael Huffman on these rosters. Could they be the beginnings of the Huffman's in Roane County. Eliza was born in TN and so was Adam Huffman. Daniel's son William Marion Grubb, Sr. married Prudence Scarbrough, and their son William Marion Grubb, Jr. married Amanda Waller. I hope you can connect to some of these and shed some light.
