CARTER was said by his son, William C. CARTER, to come from Loudon County. I can find no trace of the man until he marries Harriet Elizabeth ROWDEN 26 Dec 1878 in Meigs County TN. He was said to have two brothers who served in a TN Union Army unit, given names no known. There may also have been a sister. Any information about him and/or his family will be much appreciated.
