Does anyone know if Loudon County had a county atlas dating back to the 1870s or 1880s showing land assignments to different farmers? If so I would love to have a copy showing the location of the farm owned by my gg-grandfather, WILLIAM WATSON KILE. Also is anyone related to the KILES or the ROBINSONS? One of William's best friends was a Robinson and his sister Margaret Catherine married Thomas R. Robinson in Loudon Co in 1874. Would like to correspond with any KILE or ROBINSON descendants. I am happy to see Loudon County now has its own Rootsweb list. I am interested in the KILE FAMILY and MAYO FAMIILY that lived in Loudon County. My gg-grandfather was William Watson Kile, b 1831, in the area and died 1894 in Loudon Co. He married MARY G.A. MAYO in 1858. Married 2nd, Martha L Wallace French in 1876. There were many other KILES in the county and hope someone out there can fill in some information on the family and William's relationship to it.
My ggg-grandparents were John D. and Jane Goodwin. Their son William Banks Goodwin married Catherine Buckalew on January 24, 1828 in Roane County,TN. Their children were Alpha Jane, Mary Ann "Polly", Andrew Jackson, Peter W., and John D. (Mary Ann is listed as Polly on census but I have see family charts list her William and Catherine with daughter Mary Ann who married George Monger so I am assuming for the moment that Mary Ann and Polly are one and the same.) Their daughter Alpha Jane married Lewis Alfred Waller (their son Peter W. Goodwin married Lewis' sister America Waller). Lewis and Alpha's daughter Amanda Haynes Waller married William Marion Grubb, Jr. and their daughter Ada Martin Grubb married Wilbur H. Scarbrough (my grandparents). I don't have a James Goodwin in my database yet but I haven't done much research on that line yet. I have a little more regarding William and Catherine's children if you think it would be of help.
