I am researching the families of James Booher who married Juanita McDaniel. I find an early TN marriage of James Booher and Nettie McDonald, June 25, 1898, in Knoxville, which I believe to be them. I find them on the 1900 Knox County Census on Hannah Street listed as James Brewer and wife Nettie with one child, living next door (same house) as Perry R. Hall, his wife Delia, their son William and her mother, Jennie McDaniel. I have been told OUR McDaniels come from Lenoir City. I find in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, the grave of Delia Hall. I believe that Delia Hall was the sister of my Juanita McDaniel. Juanita had a brother Charles J. (CJ), that is certain. Two doors down on the same street on the 1900 Census is a widower, James McDaniel and several others on the street. I find James McDaniel also buried in Loudon County. Is anyone else researching this line?

TN now Loudon Co. She may have married a Ragan first, then Charles Grant. There were three children, William, Tom and Elnora. According to the KY 1890 Civil War Vets census, Charles was in the war from 1863-1865 and was a sergent in Co. E of the 11th TN Cavalry. Nancy then married Mr. Englant (maybe James K. Englant) and had two children: Martin and (Martha) Alice. Nancy was born about 1843 to Samuel and Mariah Slaton Walker. Martin was born in Jellico, TN Nov. 23,1879. Martin died in Knoxville in December 1908, age 29, after a coal mine mishap when his spine was crushed by falling slate.

    3. Posted on: Loudon County TNGenWeb
Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Loudon/370 Surname: Campbell, Munsey ------------------------- My bilological father is Garland H. Campbell. My biological mother is Betty Ernestine Munsey. They lived in Loudon County, Tennessee many years before divorcing. My father remarried a lady named Sherry (I am not sure if I have spelled her named correctly), and lived in Knoxville, Tennessee the last years of his young life. He died in his early 30's as a result of an accident. He was a member of a Baptist Church in Knoxville and is buried in a cemetary also in Knoxville. I was given up for adoption many years ago and after that, I never had any contact with Garland, my biological father. I was legally adopted when I was nine years old, but was given away at a much earlier age, 2 1/2 years of age. I would really love to know about him in any way. I am told that I look very much like him, and my son, Luke even more so. I know my biological father had an identical twin named Arland. He was from a family of several children. His father's name was Jacob and his mother's name was Grace. At least, that is what I have been told. If anyone can give me any information on GARLAND H. CAMPBELL, I would be truly grateful. It would mean so much to me to be able to share this information with my children. Thankyou! Jackie Darlene Campbell, Bates (after adoption), Hartt (married)

    1. Re: Driving Directions through Loudon County...
    2. Sandy Fine
    3. Hi Mike, Sometimes it pays not to clean up your mail box. I sent these directions before and hope the get you there. Enjoy your visit. Sandy Fine You'll be on I-40 from NC to Knoxville, TN. Take the Watt Road Exit (#369) off I-40 and turn left onto Watt Road. This exit has several truck stops. Stay on Watt Road until you get to red light (Watt Road ends). Turn right onto Kingston Pike (Hwy 11-70) at red light. Kingston Pike is a four lane road so you need to get into the inside or left lane because the road forks just ahead and you need to take the left fork which puts you on Highway 11 (East Lee Highway) and would take you into Lenoir City. You will travel about 2.4 or so miles on this two lane highway until you come to a flashing caution light. Turn left at caution light (between a little used car lot and a dress shop) onto Muddy Creek Road. Martel United Methodist Church is located at 4561 Muddy Creek Road. It is a white church on the left and is maybe 2 miles down this road. I don't think you will have any trouble finding it.

    3. Posted on: Loudon County TNGenWeb
Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Loudon/359 Surname: Morgan ------------------------- I am looking for information regarding my grandfather's birth parents. The details surrounding his birth are a complicated story, but I am trying to sort everything out. My grandfather, William Vernon Smith, passed away in 1996. His death certificate states his place of birth as Loudon County, TN, although some family members belive he was born in Jamestown, TN. His mother's name was Ada and it is known that she had a sister named Winnie (this information comes from a photo taken when my grandfather was about 12 months old.) He was later "adopted" by Courtland and Lora Smith. In 1920, Courtland and Lora Smith lived in Chattanooga, with a 6 year old Vernon W. Morgan as their "boarder." Courtland Smith was killed in an accident of some nature during the dedication ceremony of the Market Street Bridge in Chattanooga, around 1921. Lora Smith returned to Wisconsin, taking Vernon with her. Once she arrived in Wisconsin, Vernon was placed in a Catholic orphanage in Oshkosh, WI. There is some talk in the family that Lora Smith was my grandfather's aunt (perhap's on his father's side of the family). When he was eighteen, my grandfather returned to the south, living in Ringgold, GA, until his death in 1996. If anyone has any information that would be helpful, I would be most grateful.
