    3. I looked at the 1850 census, and the 1850 mortality census. I think Kathy has done the correct analysis of the entry. If I am not mistaken, the mortality census only includes people who died in the year PRECEDING the OFFICIAL census date, 1 June 1850. Since Nancy died in 5 August 1850, she does not appear in the 1850 mortality census. I checked both Halbert and Holbert. I only found a small child, Elizabeth. Since this family was actually enumerated in October, that would explain why she is out of order, and was, perhaps, added as an after thought, when the enumerator asked about deaths in the family in the last year. She did not qualify for the mortality census, but should have definitely been in the population census. Marleen Van Horne
