PROSSER To: "chestnut ridge cousins" <tn-chestnutridgecousins@rootsweb.com>, "LCT Mail List" <tnlincol@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <A83163EC9A8C408993C6E7A7679ADB90@Crowley> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original I am looking for information about D.M. PROSSER who is pictured in a photograph, probably made around 1900, with this inscription stamped on the back: "D.M. Prosser The Rawleigh Man Snyder, Okla" The photograph shows a man standing beside a four-wheel, horse-drawn vehicle. He is holding what looks like a sample case. The picture was made out on the open prairie, with no houses or other structures in view. Snyder is in Kiowa County, in southwestern Oklahoma. The words "Rawleigh Remedies / Pure Flavoring Extract / Pure Ground Spices" are written on side of the closed-in cab of the vehicle. The only D. M PROSSER I know about is Dock M. Prosser, son of Mark A. and Louisa Jane Leftwich Prosser. Dock was a brother of my grandmother, May Etta Prosser Whitaker, so that would explain my having the picture, but I don't have any information about Dock to confirm that he is the person in the picture. If anyone can give me a clue about this man's identity, I would appreciate it. I'll be glad to send you a copy of the photo if you'll email me off list. Thanks!
