    1. [TNLINCOL] 1860 census for LCT

    3. I am searching for Fredrick Farmer STEED and wife Mary Elen/Ellen (TUCKER) who were married about 1858. I found him on the 1850 census in LCT and the family was on the 1870 census in LCT. I have tried every combination of names/dates I can think of but I cannot locate them on the 1860 census. It seems to me that on one of the census the LCT was mixed in with another Tennessee county. Does anyone know if part of the LCT 1860 census is missing (or unreadable)? Does anyone know where this family was in 1860? Kaylene

    3. Kaylene, As your Fredrick is in dist 9 on the 1850 LCT and he and Mary are again in dist 9 on the 1870 it could very well be that they were in dist 10 in 1860. Part of that 1860 district 10 LCT census is indeed missing. I have proof that my great grandparents were in dist 10 in 1860 but they do not appear on that census. Other researchers have had the same problem. I have that Fredrick is buried in the Armstrong Moore cemetery. Do you know were Mary Tucker Steed is buried? If you are using Ancestry for the 1820 LCT census you have to look under Jackson CO., TN. Many of us have complained over the many months. They said they would fix the problem but Ancestry just does not seem to get their act together.
