Dear Cindy, I have that Delaney's maiden name is BAIRD or BEARD (from several sources, but no specific documentation proving the maiden name). In the 1850 LCT census, living with William "Lane" and "Laney" is Ann Beard (age 62). It is believed that this is Delaney's mother. It's too bad that the identity of the informant for Mahala (Land) Quick's death record is not provided. It's possible that Mahala's mother could have remarried. Jim Danley Vista, CA
