Page 103 in above book Will Book 2, page 347 Will or Margaret Givins, deceased Ist. I , Margaret Givins, being of sound mind and perfect memory, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, and being desirous to arrange my temporal affairs before my decease, do make and publish this as my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me made at any time. 1st; I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my death as possible, paid out of any monies that I may die seized of or may first come into the hands of my Executor. 2nd; I give and bequeath to my daughter, Mary Coughran, wife of JOHN L. COUGHRAN, my Negro Harriet, and my Negro boy Sampson, together with any other children that said Harriet may have at the time of my death, to be the sole property of my said daughter, Mary and the heirs of her body, but the above bequeath is made on the following conditions, to wit; Said Negroes shall be valued by three disinterested freeholders who may be judges of the value of such property. Said appraisement to be made at the cash value of said Negroes which shall be final. And my daughter Mary, as a consideration for the same, after retaining one seventh part of said valuation, which would be her pro rata at law, shall pay or cause to be paid at the end of twelve months, to my following named heirs their pro rate or one seventh each of the above valuation. The following is the different heirs, to wit: James Wiley, John G. Wiley, Jiney Coughran, Eliza Phagan, Sarah A. Wiley, and the three minor children of my daughter, Nancy Galloway, now deceased. Each of the above named heirs to inherit one seventh of the value of the Negroes, except the monies of my daughter, Nancy, who is to inherit jointly one seventh as their mother's portion. Thirdly; I direct that all of my personal property, together with one lot in the town of Camargo, be sold, except the bed, bedstead and furniture which I give to my Negro girl, Harriet, to be of value of twenty-five dollars. Also, I give to my four daughters, all my bed clothes, tablecloths, towels, etc. to be equally divided among themselves. And it is to be distinctly understood that all and every of the above bequeaths made to my four daughters is for their own special use and benefit and their heirs after them. Lastly, I nominate and appoint John L. Coughran, sole Executor of this my last will. In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand an affixed my seal this 13th day of July in the year of our Lord, 1859.
