Dear List, I want to offer my condolences on the passing of Robert Allen Gray. He will be sorely missed. The following is from the Higgins Funeral Home webpage: Robert Allen Gray (January 5, 1917 - November 11, 2006) Funeral services for Mr. Robert Allen Gray, age 89, of 303 Green St. will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Cole, Bro. Doyle Wright, and Bro. Ben Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow in Stewarts Cemetery. Mr. Gray died Saturday evening at Lincoln Skill Care Center. Mr. Gray was a native of Lincoln County and a son of the late William Riley and Oma Myrtle Locker Gray. Mr. Gray was a retired LPN, a writer for Passing Parade in the Ardmore Community Shopper for several years and Liberty News in the Elk Valley Times and Observer for over forty years, a member of Sons of the American Revolution, and a member of Liberty Church of Christ. Survivors include four nieces: Ann Segraves of Searcy, Arkansas, Pat Webb of Fayetteville, Gloria Turney of Hartselle, Alabama, and Brenda Cole of Murfreesboro, and two nephews: Ken Hereford of Chattanooga and John B. Smiley of Fayetteville. He is preceded in death by three brothers: James Riley, Leland Winston, and William Howard Gray and two sisters: Elizabeth Mai Smiley and Ida Nell Hereford.
