Wit.: Frans Locke, Samuel Dusenberry. Prvd. By Locke at May Ct. 1795. Page 160. Deed Book 14, p. 746. James McLaughlin to Henry Chambers of Iredell Co. NC, for ₤100, a Negro girl named Aley (?) about 10 years old. Wit: [not given]. Ack. At Feb Ct 1797. A large number of LCT families came from Rowan County, NC as part of a migration of members of the Eaton Baptist Church (this is Daniel Boone's church). These families include the Bryans (Bryants), Boons (Boones), Creasons, Cunninghams, Furches, Groces, Sowards, Seahorns, Steelmans, Underwoods, Wells and many, many others.
