To all Leftwich researchers: Most all of us are descended from the same Leftwich line of Bedford County VA. I am a descendent of Littleberry Leftwich, and that family has been thoroughly researched and documented all the way back to the original family that was given a Saxon estate as a reward for their support of William the Conqueror during his invasion of England in 1066 AD. The family took the name of the estate, Leftwich. I am generation 33 from that family. I descend through the Reese (Rees)/Reece, the Moores, and Beanland lines (Martha Rees Beanland md GWD Porter) I don't have my research at hand since I have been moving from Bedford to Moore County, but the book you need to find is: Leftwich-Turner Families of Virginia and Their Connections by Walter Lee Hopkins, J.W. Fergusson, printers, Richmond, 1931 There is a copy in the TSLA in Nashville and I don't know where all else. You can't beat the book. Also, the family webpage is at http://www.leftwich.org/ They just had their annual reunion....they have a Leftwich Historical Association as well. There is a wealth of information on this family for anyone related or interested. Donnie
