Dear List, In "The Lincoln Lineage," Vol. 8, No. 1, pgs, 20 & 21 are the transcriptions of the following two households from the 10th Civil District in the 1870 LCT Census: "203-198 Martin WRIGHT 50 M W Farmer Tenn. Frankie 48 F W Keeping house N.C. Evaline 30 F W At home Tenn. John 23 M W Farm hand " Eleander 22 F W At home " Holliman 18 M W Farm hand " Robert 16 M W " " " Meecie 6 F W " Sallie CLARK 70 F W Living with family " Martin WRIGHT married 24 July 1838, Lincoln County, Tenn., Frances MASSEY." "206-201 James GULLY 27 M W Farm hand Tenn. Harriet [HAMBY] 22 F W Keeping house " James GULLEY married 16 Dec 1869, Lincoln County, Tenn. Harriet M. HAMBY." Will Johnson's website: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=wjhonson&id=I49810 , contains the following note: "1850 Marshall Co, Tennessee District No 4, Sheet 144B, page 287, 19 Nov 1850 #656/656 Martin Wright, 25, M, W, Farmer, b TN , Frances, 30, FW, b TN, cannot read or write , Evaline, 9, FW, b TN , James, 7, MW, b TN , John, 4, MW, b TN , Sarah E, FW, b TN Sally Gully, 50, FW, b TN" Then in the "1860 Census-Tennessee," by Byron & Barbara Sistler is the following household: "GULLY, Washington 30, Sarah 30, Mary 15, John 12, George 8, Frances 55, James 16, William 20, Elizabeth 22, Johnson 1, Li-74-160." Finally, there is a marriage record for James Clark to Sarah Gully on 28 Sep 1858 in Lincoln Co., TN. 1. It would appear that there is some kind of connection between Martin WRIGHT or Frances MASSEY to Sarah who appears to have married (1) a GULLY and (2) a James CLARK. Would anyone know what this connection might be; and possibly know the identity of the GULLY she married? And who this James CLARK might be? 2. It would appear that the Frances GULLY (55) in Washington GULLY's household, in 1860, is the mother of James GULLY (16) and William GULLY (20). That the Elizabeth (22) in this household is William GULLY's wife and Johnson GULLY (1) is their son. Can anyone confirm this? 3. My hunch is that this Frances GULLY may be the sister-in-law of Washington GULLY. Would anyone know who her husband was and whether he was the brother of Washington GULLY? 3. My hunch is that the James GULLY, who married Harriet M. HAMBY, is the son of Frances GULLY, that is in Washington GULLY's household in 1860. Can anyone confirm this? Any help in sorting out these households would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jim Danley Vista, CA
