Mary, I have been interested in the Gray's and Ethridges, as both families married into the Warrens. The Grays I have not done any research on, the Ethridges I have...Just thought I would thro this your way... Jeremiah Ethridge Sr. and Courtney Bright had the following children: Peter, Jeremiah Jr. b. 1772-1775 Edgecombe Co Nc m. Sarah Rackley, Jared Ethridge m. Polly Wisman in Sumner CO Tn., Nancy Ethridge, my note states m. Jeremiah Buntin, Sarah Ethridge m. Matthew Carter, Anna Ethridge, Charity b. ca. 1780 m. Henry Warren, Courtney Ethridge, Mary Ethridge m. Eli Manning, Elizabeth m. Tignal Hendricks...(Tignal Hendricks sister Mary m. Daniel Warren b. 1772, this Warren in Lincoln Co Tn by about 1810ish). Of these Ethridges, I have not traced every line, I do have info tho that Jeremiah Jr., Jared, Anna, Charity all in Lincoln CO, to my knowledge there were no others here at that time.I have not however researched the other daughters listed..I do know the the Warrens and Ethridge, along with some Hendricks came to Lincoln Co thru the Sumner Co Tn area.. you mentioned Sumner Co Tn..... Early TN tax lists Sumner County Tn no Gray 1787 Thomas Hendrick 1792 Joseph Hendricks 1811 Cate and Wilkins Moss 1811 Joshua Warren 1811 Jeremiah Hendrick 1816 Cate and Ransom Moss 1816 John, Terrell, and Thomas Ethridge 1816 Tolbert Hendricks this makes it look to me like they moved to Sumner Co Tn at differnet times....1792 for Hendricks with an s, 1811 for Moss and Warren......but then they could have all moved together to Lincoln Co TN. But there are no Gray or Grey in Sumner early tax records. Is that any help to you? I have the early TN tax list from Sistler is you want me to look at any other names.....but it does not contain Lincoln Co. Do you know if there was maybe an 1811 state tax list for LCT? That is what I really need.
