    1. Re: [LCT] Re: MCLAUGHLIN in Rowan Co., NC
    2. Velma, I have to check dates, but you are going to find most of these people in the 1820 LCT and Bedford census. Very definitely, they went through Kentucky. Some stayed in Kentucky and some crossed the river into Indiana. This was the territory south of the Ohio River. Lazarus Whitehead was their first pastor, and he also migrated to LCT with the group. Incidentally, there was a very prominent Hart family in colonial Kent County, DE. Here is another McLaughlin record from Rowan County. Abstracts of Deed Books 15- 19 of Rowan County North Carolina 1797 – 1807 by James W. Kluttz, 1996: Page 30. Deed Book 16, p. 210. 1 Mar 1798. James McLaughlin to Daniel Chrisman for ₤250, 200 A on both sides of Back Crk, a branch of Grants Crk adj Fergus Graham and Andrew Bostian. Being part of a 620 A Granville grant to Fergus Graham {01:154} who devised it to Fergus Graham Jr., who conveyed it to this Grantor. Wit: Matthew Brandon {a German signature}.
