    3. Don't know if this will help - but try finding the Rev War records on a Charles Thompson of NC - one of his line joined SAR on him. Charles Thompson son was William Thompson born 1797 NC who married Penelope Holland b 1798 NC d/o Benjamin Holland and Rhoda Key/Kay.....they first went to Dickson Co TN, then when the land was open for settlement they went to Benton Co TN about 1 mile south of Camden. You might check with the Browning Museum & Library in Carroll Co TN children of Wm Thompson and Penelope Holland that I have: 1. Willis Calvin Thompson - some of the Thompsons moved to AR....this is the line of the man who joined SAR 2. Dolly Thompson born ca 1823 NC, died 1863 Benton Co TN, married 14 March 1839 Benton Co TN to Thomas G. Higdon b 1815 NC, died ca 1900 Arkansas. I am related to Higdon's second wife.... This entire group can be found in early NC records - Thompson, Holland, Higdon, Mullins, Key, etc. The story is they were in a wagon train together moving from one place to another.....You find them all in Rev War....I thought perhaps looking at those Rev War records might give you a lead.
