    3. Hello Norma, Thanks for getting in touch! Mobley is actually a more common name than one would think! It ranked 1142 out of the 88799 surnames that were tabulated in the 1990 U. S. census. Moberly ranked 10185. http://www.census.gov/genealogy/names/names_files.html There were quite a few Mobley families living in SC at an early date. My particular branch left for KY in 1807.
