    3. That is certainly good to know! I was a bit confused when I read Louisa had been a widow...I had planned on looking deeper into that, but I'm glad it was cleared up. I will be going to Lincoln Co later this week to the courthouse to do more research on the Thompson/Rorex connection. Catharine Thompson, daughter of Louisa and William Thompson was my ggggrandmother. Another thing, I believe Louisa was married to William Thompson, not David Thompson. They married in 1845 in Lincoln Co....just a guess here, but David may have been William's brother, as Louisa's children Catherarine, age 13, is living with David Thompson and his family in 1860. Anna was his mother, and another Catharine was in his household, maybe a sister. There is a Patrick Thompson living close by who may also be a brother. He married Mary Pulley(Pully) of Lincoln Co. The William Rorex living with Louisa in 1850, was her half brother. Nancy Holman living with W.P. was William's sister. They were children of David Rorex, Sr. and Jane__? David, Sr. had been married twice. Not much is known of his first wife Jane and their children. Their son, William D. Thompson, may have changed his name to William D. Rorex after 1850 and Louisa's death. He is living as William Rorex, age 16, with Enos and Mary Wilson in Lincoln Co. On 14 Feb 1867 William D. (Thompson)Rorex married Lucy Johnson. They had a son Richard, who later married Lou Forester in 1891 in Lincoln Co. The ages of Catharine and William in 1850 and 60 makes sense. They were 3 and 6 in 1850, 13 and 16 in 1860. Not sure how the Wilson family connects, if at all. The changing of names has been a real headache for the Rorex researching....just digging deeper into the census and a little detective work turned this up for me. Still needing info on the Thompsons, though.
