Hi Regina: Thanks for your question. Again. We do appreciate your enthusiasm! Your query, originally made in late February was answered on Monday, February 28, 2005 11:49 AM. Turns out the Committee is still preparing manuscript, and hopes to have that complete by June of 2005. None-the-less, here's a repeat of our answer: Subject: Answers to [TN] LINCOLN COUNTY HERITAGE BOOK questions... Thanks for your comments, Regina! First a statement. The LCT book has exploded from a "good size" Heritage book to GIANT, bigger than life size! More than 2200 articles are now being finalized! The brochure stated that "anticipated delivery was late 2004 or early 2005". Because of the landslide of stories and pictures, the book will be nearly double the size of other Tenn. County Heritage Books. It will be well worth the wait! Yes, meticulous records have been kept. All moneys are safely tucked away in a Federally Chartered bank in Fayetteville, TN. According to Jack Towry, President of the LCT Genealogical Soc., and the Heritage Book Committee, pre-publication prices will only be honored for only a few more days. After all manuscript is submitted, the price will increase. (a word to the wise) For more details, you may click on the website; http://www.lincolncountytn.com/genealogy/heritage.html It is anticipated that some of the family articles and photos will be submitted to the publisher on Wed., March 2. From there, the typesetting and proofing process will roar into overdrive. The goal of the Committee is a Late Fall 2005 delivery of the book. Hang in there! You will be pleased. Oh yes, in May 2005, the project will enter its 18th month. In nearby Bedford Co., TN their book project lasted approx. 36 months. (All in Bedford are very proud of their book!)
