Hello, I'm looking for the death info on the first husband of my great-grandfather, Daniel James Lewis. Maggie (Robards) Bates married Benjamin A. Bates and they lived in Lincoln Co TN in 1900 (per census). In Oct 1904 she married my great-grandfather. B. A. Bates has an obituary in Fayetteville Observer Feb. 13, 1902. page 3, column 4. I suspect this is the one. Does anyone have access to this, or perhaps could tell me how to access it or other Lincoln Co death records? Thank you Phyllis
The TN archives has film of Fayette Observer and will send you a copy of the article. It is $5 for in-state and not sure for out of state. They normally send it within a couples days of request. I have used it for several newspaper articles. They also have death certificates.
