I don't have anything on Sam Kirkland, but am curious who the father of John Vinus Kirkland might be? My husband's Kirkland/Kirklins are from Bledsoe/Hamilton/Sequatchie Co. "James L. My hunch is that all three are really the same person. The name "Minnie" is very strong evidence to that fact.
