Dear List, On February 16, the following obituary appeared on the online version of the Elk Valley Times: "February 16, 2005 "Danny Ray Carter, 48, of Fayetteville, died Friday (Feb. 11, 2005). "Mr. Carter was a native of Lincoln County, a truck driver, member of the National Guard and of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lewter Carter; two sons, Danny Chad Carter of Fayetteville and Erik Ray Carter of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Austin Chad Carter and Logan Carter, both of Fayetteville; parents, Raymond Mac and Annie Mae Carter; mother-in-law, Inez Campbell Lewter; a sister, Carol Dempsey of Fayetteville; a brother, Gary "Razoo" Carter of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by two brothers, James David Carter and Jerry Wayne Carter. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bros. Don Wallace and Winfred Claiborne officiating. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens. They have two sons, Chad and Matthew Carter. Would anyone know if this Jerry Carter is the Jerry Wayne Carter mentioned in the obituary as the brother of Danny Ray Carter? In addition, I have an Inez C. Campbell who married Clarence Edward Land, Jr. on 16 Aug 1941. Would anyone know whether this is the same Inez Campbell who subsequently married a Lewter (and is the mother of Sherry Lewter Carter), or if she is another Inez Campbell?
