I am researching the Moore and Forrester lines from the Lincoln County area that later became Moore County. My great great grandmother was Mary Matilda Forrester, daughter of Alexander Forrester. She married John F. Moore on the 5th of November 1868 in Lincoln County. They had their first child, James Alexander, on the 7th of September 1869. They were listed on the 1870 LCT census, 5th District at the Lynchburg PO. James Alexander was listed as 10 years old instead of 10 months. John was listed as J. F. Moore, age 28. I can't find anything further on John F. Moore. John and Mary Matilda were in route to Missouri when John died. Mary Matilda went back to her parents and remarried to George Baker in Bedford County on the 26th of December 1877. A lot is know on the Forrester line, but I would appreciate any help with my Moore line. Does anyone know of any newspapers that were in print during this time period(1869-1877)?
