    3. I am still searching for the parents of William R Warren who lived in Lincoln County Tennessee on Mulberry Creek where he died soon after making his will 28 August 1835. In his will he names his wife Sarah and children (not in order of birth) Robert, William, James, Peter, Samuel, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Martha, and Nancy Gean. In the 1850 census Sarah Warren, age 53, is listed as head of household. She was born in North Carolina. Listed in her house were Peter (28) and Samuel (23) plus William Polk, Sarah and William R. ( Sarah Warren, daugh of William R. and Sarah Warren, married William Polk 28 Dec. 1843. Their son was named William R Polk. Obviously this young family was living with her mother Sarah Warren in 1850). Next to Sarah lived Robert Warren (34), his wife Temperance (Wilkerson) and their three children. In the same area lived James Warren (28), his wife Sandrel and their four children. Here is listed Sarah and five of her children. Martha (b. 26 May 1818) m. Carr Bailey White (18 Feb. 1836). They were my ggrandparents. They are not listed in the 1850 census for Lincoln County Tenn. So far I have not been able to prove the parents of William R Warren. On Mulberry Creek, with land adjoining one another, were Daniel Warren, Henry Warren, Willis Warren and John Warren. These Warrens appear to be closely related, perhaps brothers, and all came to Tennessee from Nash County N. C. in the early teens of the 19th century. In Nash County N. C. in the latter part of the 18th century there are records of another Daniel Warren as well as Thomas T Warren and John Warren, who died in prision during the Revolutionary War leaving a widow Mary. Back to Lincoln County Tenn. and my William R Warren: "Who was his Daddy?" Daniel's lineage has been well documented. Henry's likewise. John, who was killed abt. 1820, was not his father. In the inventory of the estate of Willis Warren, taken by Henry Warren and recorded 14 Sept.1829, appears this statement: "a grey horse claimed by Wm Warren a son of the dec?" Could this William Warren be my William R? If so, I have found the long sought missing link. Futhermore, the name Willis is used repeatedly by the descendants of William R Warren. Martha and Carr B White named a son Willis Warren White. Circumstantial evidence points to Willis Warren as the father of William R Warren. Now who were the parents of his wife Sarah? Jim Thomas.
