I just bought a Lincoln co. Tn. Will book- Vol #4- covers 8-1838 thru 11-1848. As I get time, I will post the wills on this list- in hopes others can benefit. Trish Holaway Will of William S. Hall I, William S. Hall, being in a low state of health, but being in sound mind, do make this my last will and testament. First, I bequeath my soul to God who gave it. Second, I wish and desire, that my funeral expences and all my debts to be paid as soon after my death as possible, out of money that I may die possessed of or, may first come into the hands of my Executor. Third, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Rebecca one mare and colt named Jude, two ows and calves, one bed and furniture, one cupboard, one bureau, oneloom and such other household and kitchen furniture as my Executor thinks she will need for her comfort and convenience, and as much corn, fooder, wheat and oats, beef and pork, as my said Executor thinks sufficent for one year's support for her and her family. Also it is my desire that my wife Rebecca, shall have the entire use and control of my plantation, to enable her to live comfortable and maintain herself and children during her natural life. She shall have the privilege of renting it out, cultivating it, or in any other way using it for her own advantage by and with the consent of my said Executor. Fourth, I give and bequeath to my daughter, Lucinda A. Hall, one bed and furniture. Fifth, it is my desire that my Executor shall, as soon as practicable after my death, proceed to sell all my effects on a credit of twelve months, except what is herefore provided for, and close my buisness as soon as possible. Sixth, it is my request that after the death of mywife Rebecca, that my said Executor shall proceed to sell the whole of my real estate and the appurtenances thereon, on such terms as the law directs, and shall as soon as possible, divide the proceeds equally among my lawful heirs. Seventh and lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint William Thomas, my Executor. In witness whereof, I do to this will, set my hand and seal this the 2nd day of August 1838. Test: J.L.Stone John N. Hayes William S. Hall Will was proven by J.L. Stone at the Septemeber term of 1838.
