    2. Will of Joseph Long- deceased In the name of God, Amen, I Joseph Long of the county of Lincoln and state of Tennessee, being weak in body, but of perfect sound mind and memory, do make and constitute this my last will and testament. First, that my body be decently buried in a Christan like manner. Secondly, that my wordly goods and effects that God has blessed me with, I will give, bequeath and dispose of as follows, to wit. First that all my just debts be paid. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Matilda, one negro woman named Mira, one negro man named Moses, and the two negro children named Martha and Mary, together with my saddle, horse, household and kitchen furniture, two cows and calves, and such provisions on hand as will support the family one year, and such as sugar, coffee, flour, or other things needful as is not on hand. They must be procured.All the balance of my perishable property such as stock, provisions, farming utensils, etc., I wish to be sold on twelve month's credit. My negroes are to be kept in the tan yard and on the farm under some tanner and currier that be procured by my Executors hereafter mentioned, until the crop is secured, that together with the stock sold and the stock of leather now in the yard is tanned out, all of which stock of leather I wish to be sold at private or public sale as my said Executor may deem most advisable. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Matilda, and to my four children, viz, Mary Ann, Robert W.,, William R., and Albert J., an equal division of my personal estate. After the above distribtion, my lands and tan yard to be rented, and negroes to be hired out until the children become of age,my said wife to have her dower of one third of the real estate for life, and when my said children arrives to lawful age, thier estate to be divided between them equally by divison or sale, the way most satisfactory. My children to be raised and educated from the hire, rent and interest. I hereby appoint my brother William F. Long and Rufus K. Flack, my Executors to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made. In testimony whererof, I have hereinto set my hand and affixed my seal the 5th day of September 1838. Witness: B.H. Berry D.M. Beatie John H.
