He was born in Franklin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Emmett Grant Keith and Grace Brandon Keith. He was a farmer and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Rubye Keith of Huntland; daughter, Rose Brooks of Hugo, Oklahoma; three sons, Herbert Keith of Point Lookout, Missouri, Ernest Keith of Springfield, Missouri and Forrest Keith of Decatur, Alabama; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ricky Wade and Brother Dean Guy officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Huntland. Serving as pallbearers were: Shorty Walker, Jason Walker, M.L. Dickey, Martin Dickey, Harry Limbaugh and Jerry Limbaugh.
